Too many clothes

Went to the east end thrift store jumble sale on saturday and got another HUGE bag of clothes... my mother was not happy. i was.

best item was possibly this - little be of thee 'dirty fluffy' going on.

unfortunately it has to be dry cleaned.. GEES LOUISE

and this.

and maybe this. its grose right? yup.

and this too.

and these!! been wanting something like these for ever!

rest of the bag was mainly taken up of dresses, all of which now need 'Gerts magic touch' ie, customisation... there all ether, too long, to fat, too thin or too wrong, and all VERY dirty 'fluffy' and smelly. 'yellow and faded' as my Dad likes to say, or maybe I said that, who knows..

well thats enough for now.

bye.

enjoy and feel jealous of all my 'dirty fluffys'.

doubt you're feeling jealous. ah shucks

bye.

AMSTERDAM.

I'll keep it fairly short, just like the holiday *smiles*

Right, so yeah, I obviously went to Amsterdam as you can see from the title and picture.. It was AMAZING!!! Gert may be in love... Annd not to encourage the stereotype but i did smell weed the second I stepped off the train *chuckles* twas o so amusing.

I think one of my favourite parts were the bikes, if you don't know me already then you may not know that I have a mini obsession with bikes, and I'm pretty sure they do in Amsterdam too...

Bike multi story 'car' park

They're cool they have this weird braking system 'coaster brakes' on them, similar to fixed gear bikes where you brake by stopping the pedals but you can coast. It's very cool. And not to sound stupid but everyone has dutch bikes *chuckles* obviously aye?

There are also like millions of flea markets scattered around the place, which was awesome. Got these.. nice and sophisticated!!!

Tasty shirt

Blue pin stripped Levis

Flowery shorts

Awesome I'm cool leggings

Adidas hat
Hat+Shirt €2
Levis+Shorts+Leggings €6
Total €8.
SCORE!
clothes scanned in.

And now last but very not least, the main thing about Amsterdam is that it is BEAUTIFUL. Don't forget that sonny jim!!!

even when its raining.

O also, just have to add that from next weekend I shall promise (promises are made 'not' to be broken, I may brake it, sorry) that I will start regularly updating it.. from then I shall hopefully have my camera *crosses fingers*. The pain that I have been through not having a camera has been unbearable.. I didn't even have one in Amsterdam, woe is me, only my mothers silly compact which makes me angry and my Nikkormat film, but I'm poor so can't afford film or to get the photos developed. This made me very sad. but from next weekend I shall be set freeeeee. YAY. *again crosses fingers*

Gert needs a good old talking to...

Basically I've been a very PHAT little grill and not moved from my mummy bear chair for like 3287412057823 years. Its not good.

small lie. i've maybe been out too much and not been concentrating and been supremely distracted by things that really don't matter in life like watching 'young dumb and living off mum' and drinking cider on street corners.

if only that was a lie.

But no, in all seriousness, the main reason why I haven't posted is because I've been selling my camera so I can get an upgrade.. but things have been taking longer than I thought so I haven't got my new one yet. *tear runs from eye*

Best things Gert's done since her last post:
  • Went to a vintage jumble thing - bank holiday special, meaning large bag was only £10 YAYME
  • The V&A with Jack, I think I could live there, it's so quiet and spooky and everything a museum should be!
  • Finished my bike - FINALLY!!! the pain and suffering I had to go through to get it finally finished still brings me nightmares, will post a picture of it when I get my new camera.
I believe that's about as interesting as my life gets, then of course I think I've spent about my whole summer taking in/up dresses, o so time consuming.

I also like pictures, so here are some oldies - something like 'I HAVE AMAZING CAMERA SKILLS'
Mc D's mega whopper
People on london transport at new year are awesome!!
This scares me.
all taken on my petri 7s 35mm

p.s. i does start schoolies next thursday, soo will have trillions of things to post about. first day of 6th form. im scared. lots of big scary old people. well my age. but i feel old now.
bye.

HATS HATS HATS.

This week I've been in Whitstable. A little seaside town in Kent, unfortunately the weather has been rather unfortunate, that being said its still been o so wonderbubbles!!!

BECAUSE.

i did get THREE hats.

embarrassingly every time I come here, the thing that I am most excited about is the charity shops... not the sea. shameful shameful. its like SHOPPING but cheap!! although these day charity shops have become rather pricey... I BLAME MARY QUEEN OF SHOPS. a charity shop is not a trendy place nor a clean place but a place with cheap dirty clothes that nobody would ever want!

Anyways, to the point .

Basically Gert loves hats

and she got three amazing specimens.. along with two pairs on shorts, two jumpers and about three hundred and sixty five videos. YAY ME.

take a nosey at my little treasures...

Hand made boater - £3

White Kangol hat - £2
excuse my ridiculous face, I couldn't control myself

Straw wide brimmed summer hat - £1.50 (best buy)

White dress - Vintage jumble sale £20 for fill a giant bag, and stuff it as full as you can
Blue granny sandals - £2.99 charity shop, originally M&S.

ME BIRTHDAY.

Had a most fantabulous day yesterday - 2nd of August

the story goes:

1. woke up and opened pressents - Woody Doll (Yes I am 16 now, and No I am not obsessed, one day I'll make a post about my beanie baby collection pehe), £50 from dad (extremely surprised as my father is a self employed artist 'painter/sculptor' and doesn't even make enough money to pay his bill pah, must have got lucky this month! thanks dad!!), £20 from canadian grandparents (may combine my dads money with my grandparents and buy a brooks saddle for my new fixie bike), a Greyson Perry scarf (although I'm gonna get the money from this and get something more sentimental and long lasting - from my mum), and chocolate cake from Patisserie Valerie... then like a couple of weeks ago had my early bday party, twas a dress up tea party thing and got lots of clothes, and nom noms.

2. ate cake at 9 in the morning

3. 10 minutes later made PROPER canadian pancakes, with blue berries and bacon and maple syrup and cream and yum - no pictures though, fail Gert!! couldn't quite finish it, had to get my mum to have the last bites :D

4. got on the 19 but after like half an hour after missing like 2 and my mum fuming (the most embarrassing thing is your mum shouting at london transport in the middle of the street). Got off at Kings Road and went to Worlds End. Its was pretty awesome, especially the HATS!

5. then we saw like all these charity shops and couldn't hold back so we had a little browse. I got The Basketball Diaries on video.

6. walked up to the Saachi gallery - interesting exhibition

7. acted like giggly little girls and went to the Vivienne Westwood shop, Liberty's andSelfridges. It was VERY fun.

8. got PONYO from hmv...

9. got o soo much sushi... nom noM NOM!

10. watched the movie - it was incredibly adorable, seriously has to be watched!!

11. slept.

my incredibly nomy cake :)

I look sad, but I promise you I was VERY happy. PINK collar - made by me, PINK t-shirt - sisters, PINK corduroy high waited trousers - £1 from a textiles craft church in Norwich, PINK socks - sisters, PINK nike shoes - sisters. note: I don't actually like pink..

Saachi gallery - me being cool!
